The NY Liberty Sponsorship Manager is responsible for new sales of all New York Liberty's new corporate partnerships and partner renewals. The individual will work in tandem with NY Liberty's Director of Sponsorship on every aspect of the sales cycle. Successful individuals within our organization have the potential to grow and expand their careers within our broader sales functions and beyond.
JOB DESCRIPTION – WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Identify, source, and develop new partnerships on a national and global scale through research, benchmarking, and business intelligence across the market.
- Maintain an active schedule of prospect meetings with a focus on strategically growing NY Liberty's partnership portfolio with brands that share similar values and are motivated to help grow the sport of basketball in the U.S.
- Develop creative go-to-market strategies to secure partners in open and untapped categories.
- Develop new relationships with partnership prospects at the executive level.
- Conceptualize bespoke, industry-acclaimed partnerships that highlight NY Liberty and its partners in new ways, moving far away from traditional models. These partnerships will not only drive revenue but also engagement, recognition, and conversion.
- Provide thought leadership in recommending and executing new sellable platforms.
- Assist in creation and presentation of partnership proposals to C-Level and key Agency stakeholders.
- Create and implement new and innovative outbound sales initiatives.
- Host perspective partners at NY Liberty events throughout the year.
- Collaborate with various organizational departments to develop new marketing platforms as well as dynamic, solutions-based sales presentations that focus on key value points for both NY Liberty and prospective partners.
- Work in conjunction with other internal department stakeholders on ideation and approvals related to partnership presentations.
- Play an instrumental role in ensuring the NY Liberty Sponsorship team achieves its revenue goals as identified by the CEO.
CANDIDATE PROFILE – WHO YOU ARE:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of expertise.
- 4 years of experience uncovering, strategically building and negotiating large-scale marketing partnerships from prospecting to close.
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and / or Illustrator.
- Digital video and custom content sales experience.
- Able and willing to travel to all NY Liberty home games at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
- Able and willing to work non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends & holidays.
- Demonstrated strategic hustle and work ethic with diversity of thought.
- Exceptional negotiation skills and attention to detail.
- Deep understanding of the ever-evolving sports marketing and media landscape.
- Proven track record of constructing innovative, creative, and digitally minded partnerships.
- Possess a working knowledge of Internet, mobile and OTT products and services, digital business models, technologies, and research tools used in the industry.
- Ability to handle multiple projects, tasks, and priorities.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaborative, team-player with a results-driven mindset.
- Proven ability to set and deliver on clear, ambitious goals and to be accountable for results.
- Strategic thinker, self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent computer skills, including CRM, Outlook, MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel, ZoomInfo, YouGov, SponsorUnited, SportsDigita, LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other sales technology.
- A background in, and passion for, basketball, sports and/or entertainment is preferred.
