What are the responsibilities and job description for the National Survey of High School Environmental Science Teachers position at BSCS Science Learning?
High school environmental science teachers play a critical role in preparing students to understand and respond to today’s most pressing environmental challenges. NAAEE, BSCS Science Learning, and FieldScope are collaborating to launch a national survey to better understand the current state of environmental science education in the United States and the real experiences of teachers across a wide range of schools, communities, and contexts.

Take The Survey!
The Survey Covers Four Core Areas
- Topics and instruction: What content teachers emphasize, how much time is devoted to different environmental science themes, and what kinds of learning experiences students have.
- Curriculum and decision-making: Where teachers find materials, what influences what they teach, and how much flexibility they have to bring in new content and activities.
- Data collection and analysis: What kinds of data students collect and analyze, what tools and platforms teachers use, and what limits their ability to do more.
- Challenges and needs: What stands in the way of effective environmental science teaching, and what kinds of support, resources, or professional development would make the biggest difference.
