What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Director of Career Services position at BSC 2024?
The Virginia Beach campus of Bryant & Stratton College is seeking an Associate Director of Career Services. This position is responsible for meeting College placement goals/outcomes and impacting the career preparedness of students. The candidate will develop relationships with students to engage, prepare, coach, and motivate them towards procuring gainful employment while also building successful relationships with businesses to ultimately help place graduates in their field. Additionally, the Associate Director will serve as a resource expert in specific industry verticals, overall employment trends, and national salary averages for both students and internal departments within the college.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attainment of overall employment rate goal: Demonstrate ownership of Career Services goals and outcomes through management of internal operations that ensure that employment outcomes are achieved and consistent with year-end projections. Manages, monitors, and motivates to ensure needs of employers are effectively matched with the skills/qualifications of graduates. Collaborates, clearly communicates and articulates ideas, thoughts and suggestions with market management team in person or in meetings to ensure cross-departmental awareness of Career Services initiatives throughout the market.
- Attainment of overall employment salary average outcomes: Demonstrate ownership of Career Services goals and outcomes through management of internal operations and employer relationship management efforts, ensuring salary projections are achieved. Identify employment opportunities, by program, with employers that offer the most competitive wages for market graduates and guide graduates’ job searches accordingly.
- Business Development/Relationship Management/Leadership: Establish connections with new and existing organizations/employers based on needs of the Department and the College. Set up discovery meetings to uncover needs and opportunities for partnership. Manage this connection and take it to the next level to close the opportunity(ies). Communicate opportunities with Career Services Director. Demonstrate adaptability, openness to change and a problem-solving approach.
- Graduate support: Direct support of graduates in program areas assigned by Career Services Director, in collaboration with Career Services Representative(s): Assisting with or taking over other program areas as needed. Conducting exit interviews, resume revisions, regular post-graduation career sessions, and tracking of employment outcomes. Consistently develop personalized student relationships to create individual career success plans/strategies. Create, plan and coordinate events on campus each semester to support students and employers based on their current needs.
- File management: Reconcile reports tied to Career Services Milestones, CRM, and Qualitrics. Manage graduate files, following established processes and procedures. Achieve consistent accuracy in Career Services Milestones data entry. Daily use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel for graduate outcomes tracking and as needed.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- Sales and management skills required (3-5 years preferred), including management of staff; educational setting preferred
- Demonstrated strength in the areas of emotional intelligence, goal management, communication and problem solving, strategic alignment, coaching, leadership, relationship building and business development
- Strong computer skills – Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
