What are the responsibilities and job description for the Structural Steel Erection Foreman position at BSA Solutions Inc.?
BSA Solutions is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Erection Foreman to lead field crews on commercial, industrial, manufacturing, and aviation projects. We are looking for a hands-on leader who takes pride in quality work, plans ahead, and keeps crews working safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily field operations for structural steel, bar joist, metal decking, and miscellaneous metals installation.
- Read and interpret erection drawings, shop drawings, details, and project specifications.
- Plan daily work, assign crew responsibilities, and coordinate equipment, deliveries, and material staging.
- Coordinate rigging and steel placement with crane operators and erection crews.
- Maintain proper erection sequencing, alignment, temporary bracing, and connection completion.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce fall protection and safe work practices.
- Communicate with project managers, superintendents, and other trades regarding progress, access, and upcoming work.
- Maintain accurate crew hours, daily reports, and documentation of delays or additional work.
Qualifications
- Proven structural steel erection experience with prior foreman or crew leadership experience.
- Strong ability to read drawings and plan erection activities.
- Working knowledge of rigging, bolted and welded connections, joists, decking, and steel erection safety requirements.
- Ability to lead by example, solve field problems, and hold crews accountable.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to project sites.
- OSHA 30, rigging/signalperson training, welding qualifications, and PEMB erection experience are preferred.
Compensation
Pay based on experience and qualifications. Travel arrangements and project-specific allowances will be discussed during the interview.
