What are the responsibilities and job description for the Timber Buyer position at BSA Service Corp?
Responsibilities:
As a key member of our procurement team, you will manage the full lifecycle of timber acquisition, acting as both a forester and a proactive sales professional.
Relationship-Driven Sales: Confidently approach, engage, and negotiate with private landowners. Turn appraisals into executed contracts by establishing trust and clearly presenting win-win proposals.
Profitable Procurement: Conduct detailed property appraisals and formulate timber purchase proposals with a focus on profitability, logistics, and quality.
Compliance & Expertise: Ensure all appraisals and harvesting plans incorporate Best Management Practices (BMPs) and SFI guidelines.
Pipeline Development: Utilize and help refine our existing systems to build and manage a robust pipeline of future timber acquisitions, driving continual improvement in our processes.

Qualifications:
3-5 years of forestry experience.
Strong customer relationship skills.
Proven track record of successful negotiation.
Working knowledge of forestry, logging, and lumber production.
Clean driving record with a minimum of violations.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office.
