Responsibilities
- The Polysomnographic Technician is an experienced sleep technologist who independently performs comprehensive polysomnographic studies, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- This role is responsible for advanced monitoring, data acquisition, patient education, and application of positive airway pressure (PAP) therapies in accordance with physician orders, AASM standards, and all applicable regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an accredited Polysomnographic Technology program or enrollment in a sleep technology training program.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
Preferred Job Requirements
- Additional credentials (e.g., SDS, CRT/RRT).
