Responsibilities
- Performs clerical and clinical duties under the direction of a physician and or registered nurse.
- Clerical duties may include scheduling appointments, obtaining prior authorizations, and maintaining medical records.
- Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, and administering medications as directed by the physician.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent); Current or must be attained within three (3) months of hire
Current BLS certification.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous similar clinic experience
- Competent use of personal computers and software programs, including Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power-Point)
- Previous experience with EMR systems
- One year of experience in a physician’s practice.
