Responsibilities

• Perform professional grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and brushing to meet each pet’s specific needs and owner preferences
• Handle animals with care, ensuring their safety and comfort through proper restraint techniques and gentle handling
• Assess pet health during grooming sessions, recognizing signs of skin issues or other health concerns that may require veterinary attention
• Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, sterilizing tools and equipment regularly to uphold hygiene standards
• Communicate effectively with pet owners about grooming procedures, aftercare instructions, and any concerns observed during the session
• Assist with pet handling tasks such as dog training or behavioral management to ensure smooth grooming experiences
• Support other team members by providing excellent customer service and contributing to a welcoming environment

Requirements

• Proven experience in pet grooming, with a strong understanding of breed-specific styles and grooming techniques
• Knowledge of animal handling, restraint methods, and pet care best practices
• Experience working with dogs in various settings such as veterinary clinics, kennels, or animal shelters is highly desirable
• Familiarity with veterinary procedures or veterinary technician/assistant experience is a plus
• Ability to lift heavy objects (heavy lifting) such as large dogs or equipment safely and comfortably
• Strong communication skills for engaging with pet owners and team members effectively
• Passion for animal care combined with a positive attitude and energetic work ethic

Pay: $21.98 - $26.47 per hour
