DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop skill interpersonal communication.
- Continue developing knowledge of architectural applications.
- Learn and understand methods and techniques of storing equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Learn principles and procedures of record keeping.
- Develop knowledge of pertinent federal, state and local laws, code and regulations.
- Have or develop ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Develop the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during work.
- Learn how to study specification in blueprints, sketches or building plans to prepare project layout and determine
- Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using ruler, pencil, chalk and marking gauge.
- Perform semi-skilled carpentry work, such as repairing and constructing all aspects of architectural building.
- Assist with the assembling of pre-cut and pre-fabricated wooden or steel parts to form complete units.
- Assist with constructing, erecting, installing and repairing structures and fixtures of wood, steel, and wallboard, and
- Develop ability to build rough wooden structures such as concrete forms, tunnels, sewer supports, and temporary
- Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures, and repair or replace. Develop the skill to operate a
- Fill cracks and other defects in plaster or plasterboard and sand patch, using patching plaster, trowel and sanding
- Assist with finishing surfaces of woodwork or wallboard in houses and buildings, using paint, other finishes, tools and
- Operate company vehicles, forklift and aerial lift in conjunction with proper certification.
- Receive materials and offload in a safe and proficient manner.
- Secure and maintain basic tools and perform all tasks to standard.
- Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Perform daily tasks in a safe and workmanlike manner in accordance with company policies.
- Be familiar with company policies and regulations.
- Follow directions of supervisory personnel of all trades.
- Maintain an alcohol- and drug-free work environment.
- Adhere to and sign all pre-task plans and job hazard analysis forms daily.
- Become thoroughly familiar with current client, company, and OSHA safety.
- Inform Safety Managers and Superintendents/Supervisor of all safety violations immediately.
- Report all injuries to safety personnel and foreman immediately.
