We are seeking an experienced small engine repair technician who can confidently manage diagnostics with-in given timelines, basic maintenance, and minor to major repairs with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate possesses strong foundational knowledge, excellent diagnostic skills, and the shop efficiency required to deliver high-quality work. What You Will Do
- Diagnose and repair 2-stroke and 4-stroke small engines, lawnmowers, commercial riding mowers, handheld power equipment, and other related outdoor power tools.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems efficiently.
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, blade sharpening, tune-ups, and belt replacements.
- Read, interpret and communicate information from technical manuals, electrical schematics, and parts diagrams.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace to optimize daily shop workflow.
- Document work orders accurately, noting parts needed for estimates and labor time to communicate to customers for approval. Must be able to take accurate diagnostic notes; warranty diagnostic and commercial takes priority and must be able to accurately describe issues and needs to relay to appropriate departments.
Qualifications & Skills
- Technical competency: Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues autonomously.
- Efficiency and quality: Ability to perform high-quality work at a steady pace while maintaining a low comeback/re-work rate.
- Reliability: A strong work ethic, punctuality, and a desire for long-term stability with an established team.
- Certifications: Industry certifications (e.g. Briggs & Stratton, Kohler, Kawasaki) are great but not required.
- Computer Literacy: Will need to navigate parts diagrams for several manufacturers, locate technical bulletins, clock in and out of work orders, and record all notes etc. on the computer.
