Title: Winter Games Associate
Location: New York City
Pay: $18/hour
Bryant Park Corporation is hiring full-time, seasonal staff responsible for operating pop-up activities to celebrate the Winter Games at Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park. The responsible and enthusiastic Winter Games Associate will oversee the day-to-day operations of free to the public iceless curling lanes, routinely update our large-scale medal tracker, and monitor the bobsled photo station.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the iceless curling lanes amenity in its daily opening, operation, and closure
- Facilitate iceless curling games and teach visitors how to play, if needed
- Keep track of curling stones, score sheets, and other supplies necessary to the amenity
- Maintain cleanliness and organization around curling amenity area
- Update Winter Games medal tracker inside the Lodge bar food hall at the direction of management to reflect up-to-date medal standings
- Assist in the creation and deployment of medal tracker supplies as needed
- Observe bobsled photo station and intervene in its procedure to enforce safety rules and manage queue as needed
- Provide friendly and professional customer service
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of customer service or visitor service experience
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Strong sense of responsibility and attention to safety
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and interact with the public
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Responsible and detail-oriented with excellent observation skills
- Engaged and proactive, even during idle periods
- Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and major holidays
- Access and responsiveness to email and text
- Ability and willingness to work outside in a variety of weather, stand for long periods of time, and get your hands dirty
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
The Winter Games Associate role will begin in early February with a brief training period and conclude employment at the end of February. Preference will be given to candidates with more flexibility in their schedules and a genuine desire to work hard and provide a pleasant experience for parkgoers. Successful hires will be eligible for other seasonal employment opportunities with Bryant Park Corporation.
