Equipment Department Assistant Part-Time

Description

The function of the Equipment Assistant is to provide excellent customer service and support for the Equipment/Rental department of Bryant's Ace Hardware. This encompasses a wide variety of responsibilities and equipment knowledge including, but not limited to; answering questions and assisting with product selection for rentals, maintaining organized records and light servicing of equipment. This position is also involved in providing support for party rentals as well. The Equipment Assistant helps to ensure the department is clean, well-organized and properly merchandised.

Summary of essential job functions:

· Provide quality assistance in the selection of equipment and rental items to satisfy customer needs

· Provide a high level of customer service and teamwork

· Maintain all displays, arrange stock and products as directed to increase sales

· Effectively plan the merchandising of that department, understanding the priorities of stocking, pricing, and cleaning merchandise

· Maintain an awareness of current advertising, promotions and the stock status of merchandise.

· Assemble paperwork in an organized manner to ensure efficient record keeping

· Provide equipment detailing and servicing support as needed by the Mechanic

· Help prepare the department for inventory and perform assigned inventory duties

· Any other related duties as assigned the Store Manager

Requirements

Minimum requirements:

· Strong background in small equipment sales and servicing desirable

· Capability to handle and operate all equipment sold in a safe and proper manner

· Good organizational skills and aptitude for providing sound project advise

· Ability to effectively communicate with customers, associates and managers

· The capacity to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job

· Ability to operate a cash register

Abilities required:

· Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes, merchandise and equipment which entails lifting 100 pounds and other physical abilities to perform all functions as set forth above

· Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed
