Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks and other commercial vehicles with manual transmissions to deliver goods across designated routes.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts, ensuring proper handling of all items.
- Manage route driving schedules to meet delivery deadlines while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Provide outstanding customer service by communicating professionally with clients during deliveries and pickups.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist with warehouse activities, including moving inventory and organizing shipments for optimal efficiency.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and load/unload records for accountability and reporting purposes.
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, preferably with box trucks or similar commercial vehicles.
- Demonstrated ability in driving heavy vehicles, including manual transmission trucks, with a clean driving record.
- Prior warehouse experience involving heavy lifting, moving inventory, or operating forklifts and pallet jacks is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in diverse situations.
- Familiarity with route planning, load management, and time-sensitive deliveries is essential.
- Physical capability to lift heavy items regularly and perform manual tasks associated with loading/unloading cargo.
