Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmission across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring cargo integrity and security
- Deliver goods to customers efficiently, accurately following assigned routes and schedules
- Handle various types of freight including refrigerated items, flatbed loads, tankers, and other specialized cargo with precision
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulatory standards
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle maintenance reports
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
Experience
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the type of vehicle operated (e.g., tanker, flatbed)
- Proven truck driving experience with a focus on freight delivery, route driving, and load handling
- Hands-on experience operating manual transmission trucks preferred
- Familiarity with operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks is highly desirable
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshoot common issues
- Prior experience in freight transportation or delivery driver roles demonstrating reliability and punctuality
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to commercial trucking and cargo handling
