You’ll be responsible for
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
- Support the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes for business services departments.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide commentary on actuals vs. budget/forecast.
- Partner with department heads to understand financial performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Reporting & Insights:
- Prepare monthly management reports and commentary for business services spend.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support scenario planning and investment decisions.
- Track KPIs and operational metrics relevant to business services.
Business Partnering:
- Act as a trusted advisor to non-finance stakeholders, translating financial data into actionable insights.
- Provide financial support for business cases, procurement decisions, and vendor negotiations.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Support the automation of reporting tools and templates.
Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial policies.
- Assist with internal and external audits as required.
Key Skills & Experience:
Essential:
Essential:
- Proven experience in a finance analyst or management accounting role, ideally within a professional services or law firm environment.
- Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence non-finance stakeholders.
Desirable:
- Experience with financial systems such as Elite 3E
- Knowledge of legal industry operations and cost structures.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field preferred.
Personal Attributes:
- Proactive and self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
