Assistant Project Manager

Role Description

As an Assistant Project Manager / Project Engineer, you’ll support the Project Manager and Superintendent by helping manage all aspects of project execution—from budgeting and scheduling to procurement and client communication. This position blends technical coordination with project controls, quality, and team support.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with day‑to‑day project oversight, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and documentation management.
• Expedite material procurement, including creating purchase orders , process and review shop drawings and submittals, and ensure timely delivery.
• Maintain as-builts and project files accurately.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, trade partners, and vendors; foster positive relationships.
• Support preparation of billing, cost tracking, change order documentation, and cash flow optimization.
• Promote and enforce safety and quality standards; identify and correct violations on-site.
• Participate in job-site meetings, RFIs, and project close-out processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• 1–5 years of experience in heavy civil, municipal, or water/wastewater construction.
• Strong competency in project scheduling tools, Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office, and familiarity with platforms like Procore or Viewpoint.
• Detail-oriented with excellent verbal/written communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working outdoors under varied weather and terrain conditions.
• Valid driver’s license required; local/regional travel expected.
