Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Truck/EquipmentTechnician to join our team. MUST HAVE experience in this field. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with experience in various types of heavy equipment and vehicles. This role requires mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. The Diesel Technician will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring the safe operation of diesel-powered machinery. Full-time position at 45 hours per week. Must have a valid driver's license and transportation to and from work. Must be able to pass a drug test and have own tools. Uniforms will be provided after 90 days. Starting pay is based on experience. We are located 20 minutes outside of town.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related components, including transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, and suspension systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance on heavy equipment such as tractor-trailers, excavators, bulldozers, and loaders.
- Utilize automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Read and interpret schematics to understand complex systems within vehicles and equipment.
- Operate heavy equipment safely while adhering to all safety protocols.
Skills
- Proven experience as a mechanic or service technician with a focus on diesel engines.
- Strong mechanical knowledge including the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks associated with vehicle maintenance.
