What are the responsibilities and job description for the Orthodontist Associate – Private, Family-Owned Practice (Not a DSO) position at Brunswick Smiles?
Orthodontist Associate – Private, Family-Owned Practice (Not a DSO)
Smiles Family Dentistry | Central New Jersey
We are a family-owned and operated dental group seeking a skilled and patient-focused Orthodontist to join our growing team.
If you’re looking to practice in an environment that values clinical autonomy, relationships, and long-term patient care — not quotas or corporate pressure — this is the opportunity for you.
Who We Are
Smiles Family Dentistry is a doctor-led organization with three locations across Central New Jersey. We’ve built our practice on a simple philosophy:
Take care of people first — patients and team — and everything else follows.
- Not a DSO. No corporate oversight.
- Decisions made by dentists, not executives
- Over 10,000 active patients
- A collaborative team of general dentists and in-house specialists
- A culture built on trust, mentorship, and long-term relationships
Why This Role Is Different
This is not a “plug-and-play” ortho position.
You’ll be stepping into a practice where:
- Patients are already established and trust our team
- There is a consistent internal referral pipeline
- Cases are often part of larger treatment plans (cosmetic, implants, full-mouth rehab)
- You have the freedom to treatment plan the right way, without production pressure
Our Culture
We are:
- Team-centered — we support each other across all roles and locations
- Patient-centered — no rushed dentistry, no unnecessary treatment
- Growth-oriented — we invest in our doctors and their development
We are not:
- Production-driven at the expense of patient care
- Focused on short-term metrics over long-term outcomes
- A corporate environment with layers of management
Position Details
- Part-time (1–3 days/week) with flexibility
- Opportunity to work across multiple locations
- Mix of clear aligners and comprehensive orthodontics
- Strong clinical support team and trained coordinators
Compensation
- Competitive percentage of collections or daily guarantee (whichever is higher)
- Significant earning potential due to established patient base
- Opportunity to grow with the practice as demand expands
Ideal Candidate
- Orthodontic residency trained (DDS/DMD required)
- Licensed or eligible in New Jersey
- Comfortable with both aligners and fixed appliances
- Values relationships, communication, and long-term care
- Looking for a home, not just another associate position
Final Thought
If you’re tired of corporate dentistry and want to be part of a practice where your voice matters, your patients are valued, and your growth is supported — we’d love to meet you.
