Kate Furbish Elementary School is a large, nature-based and nurturing learning community- serving students from PreK through Grade 2 in Brunswick, Maine. Kate Furbish Elementary School is searching for a long term substitute school counselor to work with our SEL team to support kindergarten to grade two students and staff. This position will begin in late August, 2026 and continue until December 22, 2026.
Desired candidates will:
- Have experience supporting social-emotional needs of young children
- Respond collaboratively and flexibly to changing student and school needs
- Use a collaborative approach to problem solving in a fast-paced environment
- Regularly supervise students in the school environment
- Work collaboratively with the Social Emotional Learning Team on a regular basis
- Perform other related tasks and assume other duties as the Principal may assign from time to time
