Dietary Aide
Brunswick Pointe Transitional Care is seeking caring, dependable, and hardworking Dietary Aides to join our team! As a Dietary Aide, you will play an important role in providing residents with nutritious meals while ensuring the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, portion, and serve meals according to resident diet orders.
- Set up meal trays accurately and deliver meals in a timely manner.
- Serve beverages and assist residents during meal service as needed.
- Collect trays and clean dining areas after meals.
- Label, cover, and properly store food items.
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen following infection control and food safety guidelines.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and report equipment concerns.
- Follow all local, state, and federal regulations regarding food service.
- Treat all residents with dignity, respect, and compassion.
- Work collaboratively with dietary staff, nursing, and other departments.
- Attend required in-services and staff meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Previous food service experience is preferred, especially in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
- ServSafe certification is a plus but not required.
- Must successfully complete all required background screenings.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and pushing meal carts.
- Ability to work in warm kitchen environments.
