Responsibilities
- Maintain the golf course’s turf, fairways, greens, and surrounding landscapes through mowing, edging, aerating, and fertilizing to ensure optimal playing conditions.
- Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment including mowers, chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, and irrigation systems to ensure efficient performance.
- Manage irrigation systems to promote healthy turf growth; troubleshoot and repair irrigation components as needed.
- Apply pesticides and fertilizers following safety protocols to control pests and enhance plant health.
- Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of materials, soil amendments, or equipment parts with proper technique to prevent injury.
- Conduct routine inspections of grounds and equipment to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards; perform minor repairs or coordinate larger repairs with specialists.
- Support landscape maintenance activities such as planting, pruning, gardening, and horticultural care to enhance course aesthetics.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating grounds maintenance and landscaping equipment safely and effectively
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting with proper safety techniques.
- Experience with power tools such as chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, and other handheld equipment.
- Familiarity with power tool safety standards and routine equipment maintenance procedures.
- Ability to operate company vehicles responsibly for transporting tools or materials around the course area.
