Brunswick County Department of Social Services is accepting applications for the position of Income Maintenance Caseworker II (IMC II). This position is responsible for determining eligibility for Medicaid and/or Food and Nutrition Services (FNS), interviewing clients, reviewing documentation, and completing data entry in NC FAST.

- Completing timely and accurate applications, recertifications, and changes.
- Completing NCFAST Tasks daily.
- Entering data into NC FAST and county document management system.
- Attending training.
- Staying abreast of policy updates.
- Knowledge of NC FAST
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- General computer knowledge and ability to learn and navigate various programs and databases
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and reassess as priorities change in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to de-escalate upset customers / remain calm in stressful situations
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Graduation from an accredited associate degree program in Human Services Technology, Social Services Associated, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, Secretarial, or a closely related curriculum; or
- Graduation from high school and three years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact, which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling of data, analysis of data and/or performance of mathematical program; or
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
