ReStore Associate (retail)
Brunswick County Habitat Restore -Southport, North Carolina
Position: Full-Time/ Tuesday through Saturday
Our ReStore is a one-stop shop for furniture, appliances, home goods, and home improvement essentials, as well as a donation and volunteer center. Habitat of Brunswick County locations are open to the public and sell new and gently-used furniture, appliances, home décor, artwork, lighting, building materials and more at a fraction of the retail price. All proceeds from the Habitat of Brunswick County ReStores are used to help build strength, stability, self-reliance, and shelter for hard-working families right here in Brunswick County.
Responsibilities:
The ReStore Associate is responsible for supporting all aspects of Restore operations including customer service, sales, donations, warehouse logistics, and merchandising.
Duties:
- Prepares store displays and shelving for stocking as directed by Management.
- Organizes products on the sales floor and performs display maintenance as directed by Management.
- Assists with the receiving of donated items by unloading donor vehicles and the Restore truck.
- Operate cash register and comply with company cash control policy.
- Performs job tasks and duties following all safety procedures.
- Upholds store and customer service policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Take on a leadership role with volunteers.
Skills Required:
- Excellent customer service
- Must be able to lift, push and pull 50 lb. frequently, and heavier weights up to 100 lb. occasionally.
- Must be able to stand for long periods.
- Must be able to operate light equipment, including pallet jacks, lift gates, and hand trucks.
- Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be self-motivated and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities with limited oversight.

Qualifications/Education:
- High school diploma with relevant professional experience.
- Experience in a retail environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
