The Construction Crew Member plays a key role in supporting our mission by assisting with day-to-day construction activities and helping ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality building practices on our job sites.
This is a full-time, benefits eligible position at $20/hr.
Job Summary
The Construction Crew Member is an integral part of the construction team and will assist Construction Site Leads with building, renovation, or repairs to residential buildings and Habitat-owned and leased properties within Brunswick County, NC.
Principal Responsibilities
- Building, renovating, and repairing homes.
- Follows established safety rules and regulations.
- Deliver materials, equipment, and products to various job sites, offices, and ReStores.
- Removal of excess materials and products.
- Perform site cleanup.
- Meet inspectors on site.
- Supervise volunteers.
- Punch out of homes.
- Landscape duties as required.
- Repairs to Habitat owned and leased properties.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in the residential construction field or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License, clean driving record (per MVR check), and able to drive large vehicles and the ability to pull and back trailers.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to do physical labor and strenuous physical tasks.
- Ability to 75lbs.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a Habitat safety orientation.

- Effective communication skills and ability to connect with people from a variety of backgrounds.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Knowledge, skill, and abilities necessary to comply with building codes, zoning ordinances, and general construction and building regulations.
