Construction Crew Member

The Construction Crew Member plays a key role in supporting our mission by assisting with day-to-day construction activities and helping ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality building practices on our job sites.

This is a full-time, benefits eligible position at $20/hr.

Job Summary

The Construction Crew Member is an integral part of the construction team and will assist Construction Site Leads with building, renovation, or repairs to residential buildings and Habitat-owned and leased properties within Brunswick County, NC.

Principal Responsibilities

• Building, renovating, and repairing homes.
• Follows established safety rules and regulations.
• Deliver materials, equipment, and products to various job sites, offices, and ReStores.
• Removal of excess materials and products.
• Perform site cleanup.
• Meet inspectors on site.
• Supervise volunteers.
• Punch out of homes.
• Landscape duties as required.
• Repairs to Habitat owned and leased properties.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in the residential construction field or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License, clean driving record (per MVR check), and able to drive large vehicles and the ability to pull and back trailers.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to do physical labor and strenuous physical tasks.
• Ability to 75lbs.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a Habitat safety orientation.

• Effective communication skills and ability to connect with people from a variety of backgrounds.
• Ability to work at heights.
• Knowledge, skill, and abilities necessary to comply with building codes, zoning ordinances, and general construction and building regulations.
