What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Aide I Instructor position at Brunswick Community College?
General Function
There are two positions being advertised. One position is for evenings and weekends in Bolivia and the other is a day position in Leland. This position will provide instruction related to the education of Nurse Aide students. The instructor will provide lectures, hands-on training, clinical training and general supervision to the students in the Nurse Aide I and the Nurse Aide II programs. The instructor will also prepare student progress reports, submit accurate attendance, and maintain a safe classroom and clinical environment. The Nurse Aide 1 program is offered on various days, evenings and Saturday course options per semester.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides classroom and laboratory instruction, examination preparation, grading, and preparing students for a rewarding career working as a Nurse Aide
- Provides students with guidance during their clinical rotation at health care facility and prepares them for state licensure and for further advancement in the Nursing profession
- Ensures that the state approved curriculum and all relevant materials are being used in the classroom
- Willingness to prepare and update course material/outlines and schedules with consideration for adult learning styles
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a Registered Nurse with an unencumbered North Carolina RN license with either an Associate, Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nursing
- Minimum of three years nursing experience
- Experience working in long term care with the elderly population
Preferred Requirements
- Three years of prior experience teaching and supervising healthcare students
- Basic computer skills
- Acute care and community health nursing
