Overview
Join our dynamic construction team as a Concrete Foreman, where you'll lead and oversee commercial and residential concrete projects and all aspects of concrete operations onsite. This role is vital in ensuring that concrete projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. As a Concrete Foreman, you will coordinate with project managers, manage crews, and ensure adherence to project schedules and specifications. Your expertise will help drive successful project completion while maintaining safety and quality at every step.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate concrete pouring, finishing, and curing processes on construction sites.
- Manage daily work activities of concrete crews, ensuring tasks are completed on time and according to plans.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to guide work accurately.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and enforce safety protocols across the site.
- Utilize construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, HeavyBid, or similar tools for scheduling and documentation.
- Oversee quality control measures to meet project specifications and standards.
- Collaborate with project managers on project scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Conduct site inspections to verify electrical systems or other technical requirements.
- Review contracts and manage subcontractor activities related to concrete work.
- Maintain accurate records of daily progress, safety incidents, and material usage for reporting purposes.
- Lead from the fieldwork alongside the crew while directing daily tasks, crew production, sequencing, and production.
- Plan pours and prep: manpower, materials, embeds, access, pump needs, delivery timing, and inspection readiness.
- Oversee/perform: site prep, formwork (as applicable), rebar/mesh coordination, embeds/anchor bolts, vapor barrier, placement, screeding, edging, finishing, curing, saw cutting/joints, patching, and punch-out.
- Verify line/grade/elevation, slopes, joint layout, finish requirements, and curing practices, address issues immediately.
- Coordinate with subs, inspectors, pump operators, delivery drivers, and other trades to prevent delays/conflicts.
Experience
- Proven management experience supervising concrete or heavy civil construction projects.
- Minimum 6 years of concrete foreman or lead experience
- Extensive construction site experience with a strong understanding of blueprint reading and schematics.
- Familiarity with construction management software including ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Primavera P6, HeavyBid or equivalent programs.
- Demonstrated ability in project scheduling, budgeting, and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to read/interpret plans, specs, and basic shop drawings, strong layout and sequencing skills.
- Plan reading, grade/elevation awareness, and strong understanding of concrete sequencing and pour-day problem solving.
- Strong communication, accountability, and a quality-first mindset.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices for construction site safety.
- Supervising experience leading diverse teams in fast-paced environments.
- Skilled in construction estimating techniques and contract management processes.
- Ability to operate technical tools such as ohmmeters for quality assurance purposes.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of concrete foreman or lead experience
- Strong knowledge of concrete forming, placement, and finishing
- Ability to read plans and supervise crews efficiently
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- OSHA 10/30 preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, not required
