JOB SUMMARY:
Directs and coordinates activities of production department in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- To be effective, the person needs to have good communication and people skills in general.
- Directing and prioritizing work within the tool room, across a wide range of talents/personalities
- Many interactions required with engineering on the design/requirements of specialty parts/projects, die design, etc.
- Coordination required with production and maintenance to keep the plant running efficiently
- Machine repairs
- Projects
- Improvements
- The tool room supervisor also plays a critical role in keeping the press room running
- Prioritizing die repairs/rework required
- Ordering punches/die buttons/bushings, etc.
- Working with engineering on die drawings, modifications, etc.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages subordinate supervisors
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of his department
- Supervises all employees
- Hiring, interviewing and training of all employees
- Responsible for the ordering and maintaining supplies needed for all aspects of production
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Business College Degree or equivalent; or minimum of five years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts
- Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Computer Technical Skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand continuously for 8 – 12 hours.
- Ability to work in tight places
- Strength and manual dexterity sufficient to operate tools to make repairs
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds repetitively.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to twist, bend and lift repetitively.
- Ability to stand, crouch and climb
- Ability to use ladders to perform various types of manual labor.
- Good eye/hand coordination and good motor skills.
- Visual (with correction) sufficient to read blue prints and orders and the ability to record the information either manually or in a computer.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ear and eye protection required at all times in all production areas.
- Exposure to a noisy work environment
- Exposure to hot and humid conditions
- Exposure to coolants, oils, grease and water

Compensation: $75,000 - $105,000
