Measurement Drafter

Brunel is recruiting Measurement Drafting Technicians to work in Carlsbad, NM for initially 1 year contract with our major oil and gas client.

Responsibilities:

• Create new Site Facility Diagrams (SFDs) for oilfield measurement sites using Muddy Boots Online (MBO) software.
• Review, update, and correct existing SFDs to ensure they reflect current facility layouts and measurement points.
• Perform field visits to verify equipment placement, flow paths, and measurement devices for accuracy.
• Work closely with Measurement Foremen, Engineers, and Operations teams to gather missing information and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure all diagrams meet regulatory requirements from agencies such as the BLM and relevant state regulators, as well as internal quality expectations.
• Maintain organized records of all SFD revisions, updates, and version history within company systems.
• Support internal and external audits by providing accurate and up-to-date facility documentation.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical drafting or CAD-related certification preferred.
• Experience: 5 years of experience in oil and gas measurement or technical drafting strongly preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software is required or preferred as noted.
• Familiarity with oilfield facility layouts and measurement equipment is advantageous.

Skills:

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret P&IDs and facility layout drawings.
• Ability to work independently in both office and field environments.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills when working with operations, engineering, and measurement personnel.
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to field locations.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions while following safety protocols.
• Drafting, documentation, and diagram management.
• Field: On-site verification of facility details, requiring PPE and adherence to safety procedures.
