Brunel is currently searching for a Senior Environmental Engineer to work with our client in the mining and metals industry.
The Senior Environmental Engineer plays a crucial role in conducting studies, analyzing data, and synthesizing results to determine the potential environmental impacts of mine development and operation.
Duties:
- Collects and analyzes environmental data, prepares reports, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Administers water quality and monitoring programs.
- Coordinates TRI, Biennial EPA Hazardous Waste Report, Annual State Hazardous waste report, Annual Bio assessment, WET Test, Ambient Water Quality Report development and reporting.
- Writes and updates technical documents such as SPCC Plan, SWPPP, BMP Plan, Reclamation Plan, SOPs, and Sampling and QA/QC Plans.
- Calculates reclamation plan bonding requirements for mine closure.
- Participates in and updates hazardous material/waste minimization, handling and disposal programs.
- Assists with spill prevention and response programs.
- Maintains technical documents like SPCC and SWPPP plans.
- The position also involves database management.
- Spill prevention, regulatory inspections, risk mitigation, and internal audits to uphold environmental and safety standards.
- Provides guidance to Environmental Engineers and Technicians and collaborates with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with environmental laws.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education in an environmental field.
- 5 years' experience in the environmental field. Prior experience in the mining industry preferred.
- Understanding of environmental regulations related to mining.
- General knowledge and experience with MSHA / NRC / IDEQ / IDWR / Panhandle Health / EPA regulations pertaining to environmental health and safety preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship.
