What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Engineering Technician position at Brunel?
Brunel is recruiting Electrical Engineering Technicians to work in Spring, TX for initially 1 year contract.
Main Functions:
- Support field electrical maintenance activities.
- Perform electrical isolation procedures, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO).
- Typically reports to a Supervisor or Manager.
- Provide guidance to lower-level staff on complex issues.
Support maintenance for:
- Lighting systems
- Air conditioning systems
- Motors
Assemble, test, and modify:
- Experimental and operational electrical machinery
- Electrical control equipment
- Electrical circuitry and components
- Follow engineering specifications in industrial or commercial plants and laboratories.
- Diagnose causes of equipment malfunctions or failures.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Record maintenance data.
- Recommend modification or replacement of failed equipment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a closely related position.
- Relevant certification(s) in the discipline (if applicable) or equivalent professional experience.
- Ability to clearly describe field conditions
- Ability to recommend corrective actions
- Works effectively without direct authority
- Willingness to assist others
Desired Skills / System Experience:
- Electrical High Voltage (HV) Power Transmission and Distribution experience.
- Electrical Dispatch Operations experience.
Knowledge/experience with SCADA platforms such as:
- Ignition
- Wonderware
- GE HMI
Functional knowledge of:
- SeeQ Analytics Software
- Aspentech – Monarch
- ABB Xenon SCADA
- Instrumentation, Controls, and Electrical experience.
