The Manufacturing Engineer Lead ensures that manufactured components and assembled products meet company standards and objectives for the production of subsystems and systems. The Manufacturing Engineer monitors the overall production process, develops and implements corrective actions to improve product or process quality. To accomplish this, the Manufacturing Engineer continually works on products in the production area to strengthen knowledge and identify weaknesses in the product or process. The position requires an ability to work productively individually or as part of a group.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate strong hands-on production process development and problem-solving abilities
  • Lead initiatives to optimize manufacturing layout and space utilization
  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) transitions from Engineering to Operations
  • Support production to achieve on-time shipment (OTS) and revenue goals while maintaining high Out of Box Quality (OBQ)
  • Manage non-conforming material (NCMR) and implement corrective actions
  • Implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
  • At least 8 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Proactive work attitude
  • Work independently, strong team player, detail oriented, organized, and hands-on
  • Experience in low volume high mix environment is a plus
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills required; ability to diagnose and resolve issues across multidisciplinary systems.
  • Optical systems knowledge strongly preferred; experience with optical alignment, testing, or design is a plus.
  • Effective technical communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with ERP systems on Material Master, BOMs, Routings, Documents. Experience with SAP is a plus
  • Strong self-management and drive to get things done
  • Must be able to lift ~50 lbs.
  • Ability to Travel

At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $90,900 and $161,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
