What are the responsibilities and job description for the Container Lumper / Dock Laborer position at BRUIN?
We're hiring hands-on labor to unload ocean containers as they hit our dock — devanning, sorting, and counting freight so it's ready for putaway. Physical work, steady hours, paid weekly.
What you'll do
- Unload (devan) ocean containers by hand and by hand-truck/pallet jack
- Sort and count cartons against the manifest/packing list as you unload
- Stage and palletize freight for warehouse putaway
- Flag damaged, short, or mis-labeled cartons to the shift lead on the spot
- Keep the dock area clear, organized, and safe throughout the shift
What we're looking for
- Able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly for a full shift
- Comfortable standing, bending, and working in a container/dock environment
- Reliable — shows up on time, every shift
- Basic counting/tally accuracy — you'll be reconciling cartons against paperwork
- Prior container unloading, warehouse, or freight-handling experience a plus, not required
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
