JOB SUMMARY

This position is to assist management of the activity of the new and used truck sales department. By performing the duties of this position, the employee will help the truck sales people to be more productive and increase departmental revenue. This position will also assist the Sales Manager with the duties of that position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES:

1. Work with customers and prospects that come to the dealership when the sales people are out of the office or occupies with other tasks.

2. Help rental customers that come to the dealership to pick up vehicles when the rental manager is out of the office.

3. Organize and maintain the used truck files that are kept on the dealership’s computer data base. These files include pictures and specifications of the used truck inventory.

4. Enter the specifications and pictures of the used truck inventory on the company website.

5. Place advertising of new and used trucks as directed by the Sales Manager.

6. Follow up with customers of the dealership to assure that they are satisfied with the products and services they have purchased.

Marginal Job Tasks:

1. Appraise used trucks for trade-in value when the truck sales personnel, Sales Manager, or General Manager are unable to perform this task.

2. Travel to visit customers in their place of business to help facilitate the sales process.

3. Assist with sales and marketing activities such as surveys, direct mailers, and trade shows.

4. Deliver new and used trucks to customers with sales people.

5. Order, pick up, and organize parts for incoming units.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Educational Requirements: A minimum high school diploma with appropriate experience is required.

Work Experience: No sales experienced required. Automotive and/or truck experience is a plus.

Language Skills: Good oral and written communication skills.

Mathematical Skills and Reasoning Ability: Adequate skill to track inventory costs. This position requires that the employee plan and prioritize their work load.
