The Automotive Estimator is responsible for accurately assessing vehicle damage, preparing complete and compliant repair estimates, and serving as a key liaison between customers, insurance partners, and the production team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring safe, high-quality repairs, customer satisfaction, and shop profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough vehicle damage assessments, including structural and safety-related components
- Write complete, accurate repair estimates using estimating software, CCC
- Research OEM repair procedures and ensure all estimates follow manufacturer guidelines
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair process, timelines, and insurance procedures
- Work with insurance adjusters to negotiate fair and accurate repair plans
- Coordinate with technicians and production staff to ensure repair plans are achievable and efficient
- Update estimates as supplements are identified during the repair process
- Ensure all necessary documentation, photos, and notes are completed and stored properly
- Monitor repair progress and assist in resolving delays or issues
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience as an automotive estimator or in collision repair (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of vehicle construction, repair methods, and parts identification
- Familiarity with OEM repair procedures and safety systems (ADAS, structural repairs, etc.)
- Proficiency with estimating software (CCC One preferred)
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- Strong attention to detail and time-management skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Certifications (Not Required)
- I-CAR ProLevel certification
- ASE certification
- OEM certifications

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
