Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes in health status.
- Prepare meals according to specific dietary needs and preferences.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Assist with medication administration as per care plans.
- Support clients with mobility challenges using equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and social interaction.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans effectively.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in personal care, home health, or long-term care settings preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR; certification is a plus.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or Alzheimer’s care is highly desirable.
- Strong patient observation skills and the ability to monitor changes in client conditions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for client mobility assistance.
- Familiarity with patient care protocols, including vital signs monitoring and medication administration.
