Duties
- Safely operate flatbed tow trucks and wrecker equipment to recover and tow vehicles from accident scenes, breakdowns, or illegal parking situations
- Perform basic vehicle troubleshooting, minor mechanical repairs, and automotive diagnostics to assess vehicle condition before towing
- Secure vehicles onto tow trucks using proper cargo securement protocols to prevent movement or damage during transit
- Load and unload vehicles with precision, adhering to safe vehicle loading practices for all types of vehicles including trucks and cars
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients, explaining procedures, and ensuring a positive experience
- Maintain detailed logs of all recoveries, loads, unloads, and vehicle conditions for accountability and reporting purposes
- Conduct routine inspections of tow truck equipment to ensure mechanical reliability and safety compliance
Requirements
- Proven experience in automotive repair, mechanical knowledge of vehicles including trucks and cars, with a focus on minor repairs and diagnostics
- Valid commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in commercial truck driving is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of flatbed operations, vehicle mechanics for truck drivers, and safe vehicle loading techniques
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting on vehicles using automotive diagnostics tools
- Skilled in conflict management with customers or colleagues in high-pressure situations
- Knowledge of cargo securement protocols specific to towing heavy or large vehicles
- Excellent driving skills with manual transmission experience preferred
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects safely, perform load & unload tasks efficiently, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
