Dept./School:District Wide Position Terms: 192 days (10.5 months)
Primary Purpose:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership, expertise, and direct support in addressing student behavioral needs to promote positive, safe, and effective learning environments. This role will collaborate with campus teams to conduct assessments, develop and monitor behavior intervention plans, provide staff training and coaching, and implement data-driven strategies that support student success academically, socially, and emotionally. The position ensures that interventions are individualized, legally compliant, and aligned with district and state guidelines while fostering student growth in the least restrictive environment.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master’s Degree in applied behavior analysis (ABA) or a related field
Certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) as BCBA in good standing
Licensed Behavior Analyst in State of Texas
Or
Master’s degree in psychology from accredited college or university
Valid Texas license as a licensed specialist in school psychology granted by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Knowledge of the IEP committee process, goals setting and implementation of IEP
Display professionalism in dealing with students, campus staff, and parents
Has provided instruction to students diagnosed with behavior disorders (ED/BD, ASD, etc.)
Has developed and implemented data collection systems
Experience in conducting FBAs and writing BIPs
Knowledge and understanding of principles of applied behavior analysis
Self-starter able to work without day to day supervision

Experience:
Minimum three years working with students diagnosed with behavior disorders, developing instructional programs for individuals with disabilities, and experience working in public schools preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1.
Plan and oversee the development and implementation of programs, policies, and best practices.
2.
Plan and design evidence-based practices utilized in district self-contained programs
3.
Conduct functional behavior assessments and functional analyses to inform development of individualized behavior intervention plans
4.
Develop materials, provide resources, and provide professional learning to administrators, educators, paraprofessionals, and/or parents/guardians in evidenced-based methodologies related to addressing needs of students
5.
Assist district staff with development and implementation of behavior plans, behavioral instructional programs, and other appropriate programs for students
6.
Attend relevant school district and professional meetings as necessary
7.
Collect data and prepare reports for the purposes of documenting case history, assessments, and treatment
8.
Maintain case records for all students
9.
Participate in special education student intervention planning on an as needed basis for students with significant behaviors to ensure least restrictive environment is considered for implementation of behavior interventions
10.
Work with students who exhibit inappropriate behaviors and provide support and professional learning for staff who work with students who exhibit dangerous behaviors
11.
Remain informed on educational innovations and trends related to the behavior disorders and evidence-based practices.
12.
Participate in IEP Committee meetings/staffing as appropriate.
13.
Carry out other responsibilities as designated by the Director of Special Programs.
Communication
14.
Establish and maintain open lines of communication by conducting conferences with campus staff, district staff, parents, and students.
