What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Maintenance position at BROWNS RIVER MIDDLE SCHOO?
Mount Mansfield Unified Union School District (MMUUSD) is seeking a proactive Head of Maintenance to oversee a diverse campus including Browns River Middle School, our District Central Office, and Preschool classrooms.
We are looking for a community-minded leader who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and our youngest learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations: Supervise daily custodial and maintenance services for the campus; delegate tasks and manage schedules effectively.
- Technical Oversight: Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and wood chip burning plants; ensure efficient energy and fuel usage.
- Facilities & Grounds: Manage upkeep of athletic fields and grounds; prepare facilities for after-school events and Pre-K safety requirements.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work meets OSHA and Department of Health standards; serve as a key member of the school safety team.
- Administration: Manage the annual budget, coordinate with outside vendors/contractors, and handle bid proposals.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2 years of related maintenance/facilities experience.
- Technical: Technical diploma or license in plumbing, electrical, or HVAC preferred; thorough knowledge of boilers and mechanical systems.
- Skills: Proficient in Google Workspace; ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally.
- Availability: Regular, reliable attendance with the ability to be on call 24/7 for emergencies.
