Marine Operations Coordinator

Brown Water Marine Service, Inc. is seeking an experienced Marine Operations Coordinator at our facility in Ingleside, TX. 

Key Responsibilities:

·  Assist with Charter and Towing Agreements

·  Assist with the negotiation of inland barge transportation rate agreements, terms & conditions, safety requirements and pricing

·  Preparation of RFPs and RFQs

·  Daily operational activities (in house & customer facing)

·  Supporting Safety & Compliance Department with Internal/External Audits, SIRE, and USCG inspections

·  Consistent and reliable communication with key stakeholders, customers, crew members

·  Crew management

·  Maintains awareness of all industry developments via key trade associations, councils, conferences, etc. – attends events as requested

·  Perform other duties or special projects as assigned

·  Night/weekend on call duty

Qualifications:

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Business or in related field preferred

·  5 years’ experience, marine environment strongly preferred but not required

·  Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask

·  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

·  Familiarity with HELMConnect or similar software preferred

·  Must be legally authorized to work in the USA for any USA Employer

·  U.S. Coast Guard experience a plus

·  The ability to work autonomously with personal initiative is vital to the success of this role

·  Must have a clean driving record

·  Travel: up to 20%

Salary is commensurate with experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The Marine Operations Coordinator reports to Brown Water Marine Service Inc.’s office in Ingleside, Texas, the standard office hours are Monday – Thursday 0730-1630 and Friday 0730-1200. This position is required to be available after hours as needed for some after hour on call duty and in the event of an emergency.

This position involves sitting, standing, and/or moving from one location to another. While this is a shoreside position, the candidate must be able to board Brown Water Marine Service Inc. vessels and barges through various means such as gangways, ramps, ladders, stairs, etc. Individual may be exposed to loud noise (machinery, operating equipment), seasonal weather and exert 20-50 pounds of force frequently.
