Overview
We are seeking dedicated Veterinary Assistants and Technicians to join our compassionate veterinary team. Duties
- Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures including medication administration, animal restraint, and specimen collection
- Perform animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, bathing, grooming, and maintaining cleanliness of kennels and treatment areas
- Handle animals safely during examinations and treatments, including dog handling and animal restraint techniques
- Support laboratory work by collecting samples, preparing specimens, and maintaining lab equipment
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist with front desk duties such as client check-in and appointment scheduling
- Administer medications accurately following veterinary protocols
- Assist with surgical procedures by maintaining aseptic technique and preparing surgical instruments
- Manage pet care routines including feeding schedules, exercise, and monitoring patient health status
- Support critical care cases by monitoring vital signs and assisting in emergency procedures
- Handle specialized tasks such as animal catheterization, animal physiology assessments, and understanding of veterinary terminology
Experience
- Previous kennel experience or veterinary clinic experience preferred
- Animal handling skills across various species, including dogs, cats and other small exotics
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Experience with pet care routines, laboratory procedures, and aseptic techniques
- Veterinary assistant or technician experience highly desirable
- Familiarity with front desk operations within a veterinary setting is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to perform animal restraint safely and effectively
- Experience in administering medications and performing basic laboratory tests or procedures
