The Director, Network Growth & Operations leads our efforts in building and managing strong relationships with physicians, optimizing network performance, and ensuring a seamless experience for our healthcare providers and members alike. The Director, Network Growth & Operations leads our efforts in building and managing strong relationships with physicians, optimizing network performance, and ensuring a seamless experience for our healthcare providers and members alike. The role is focused on operational excellence through strong management, process improvement, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration to drive effective execution across the network.
You Will Focus On
Network Strategy & Operations
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to expand and enhance our physician network, aligning with organizational goals and market needs.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including physicians, medical groups, and healthcare organizations in support of network and member engagement.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as clinical, quality, and MSO teams to support risk adjustment, clinical services, quality, performance initiatives, and program deployment within the network.
- Develop innovative programs and services that enable physician practices and improve physician performance, engagement, and satisfaction.
- Lead communication strategy and outreach channels with network providers and members using existing and new communication vehicles.
- Leverage shared tools, content, and strategies in support of Southern California network initiatives and programs.
- Serve as a channel for program deployment and network performance, working cross-functionally to help managed services leaders deploy workflows and programs into the network to drive performance.
- Work closely with internal teams (clinical, quality, MSO) to ensure smooth deployment of workflows and programs into the network.
- Ensure coordination and collaboration across MSO (Management Services Organization) teams in delivery of services (claims, quality, clinical, etc.).
- Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and physicians, fostering a collaborative and mutually beneficial partnership.
- Implement strategies to address physician concerns, enhance communication channels, and improve overall satisfaction.
- Advocate for physician needs within the organization, ensuring alignment of policies and practices with physician expectations.
- Oversee network roster to ensure alignment with health plans, provider adds and terms, along with member re-assignments.
- Provide comprehensive onboarding into the network, tools, and provider programs to ensure smooth integration for incoming providers.
- Partner with marketing to produce communications and resources for the physician network.
- Collaborate with the Unified Contact Center and other service teams to improve provider and member experience.
- Serve as the operational liaison for issue management, tracking, and resolution across customer-facing functions.
- Oversee the management and operations of the physician network, ensuring high performance standards, financial, clinical, compliance, and quality outcomes.
- Develop and implement metrics to measure network performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Implement metrics to monitor network performance and collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support risk adjustment, clinical services, and quality programs through operational alignment.
- Collaborate with operations and quality teams to implement best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with growth of the network within existing and new markets, focused on ensuring optimal performance of the network overall and providers.
- Bring physician feedback and operational needs to operations teams for inclusion in cross-functional improvement efforts.
- Drive coordination across MSO teams for delivery of services (claims, quality, clinical) to support continuous improvement.
- Serve as the operational liaison across departments to ensure alignment, issue resolution, and consistent execution of initiatives impacting providers and members.
- Provide strategic guidance and direction to network development and management functions, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Lead initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes, and optimize resource utilization.
- Drive innovation and excellence in physician network management and relations, positioning the organization as a leader in healthcare delivery.
- Build and develop a high-performance network engagement function as applicable, including network development managers, physician relations representatives, physician services advisors, and engagement managers (structure to be determined).
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
- Provide mentorship and coaching, promoting growth and career advancement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MHA) preferred.
- Extensive experience (12 years) in physician network management, physician relations, or healthcare provider relations, with a strong understanding of MSO and healthcare delivery systems (including claims, credentialing, quality, clinical, etc.)
