Brown Technologies is currently seeking a Test Engineer who is a self-starter supporting the Program Manager Command & Control Applications (PM C2 Apps).
DESCRIPTION:
The Test Engineer is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive Test and Evaluation (T&E) strategies for a portfolio of complex, large-scale software systems. This role supports testing across cloud, on-premises, and hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) environments while ensuring integration within a DevSecOps pipeline. The position requires strong technical expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and execute Test and Evaluation (T&E) strategies across diverse environments including cloud, on-premises, and HWIL systems.
• Integrate testing processes within a DevSecOps pipeline for modern web applications.
• Plan and coordinate test activities with internal product offices and external organizations such as ATEC and DOT&E.
• Develop and manage test plans, procedures, and reports for large-scale software systems.
• Perform daily testing activities, including hands-on technical support and observation reporting.
• Conduct troubleshooting and analysis of complex system requirements and issues.
• Translate system requirements into detailed test cases, including performance and load testing scenarios.
• Develop automated tools and methodologies for data reduction and analysis.
• Support software release processes, including quality assurance and configuration management.
Additional Duties:
• Support continuous improvement of testing methodologies and processes.
• Provide technical input and recommendations to development teams.
• Assist in evaluating system performance, scalability, and reliability.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
• U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience developing and executing test strategies for system-of-systems software products
• Familiarity with DAU Test & Evaluation processes and Army Regulation 73-1
• Experience using, modifying, and maintaining software test tools
• Strong ability to translate complex system requirements into actionable test plans
• Understanding of networking and security concepts
Preferred:
• U.S. Citizen and active Secret Clearance
• Experience designing and executing large-scale testing (performance, load, stress)
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments (e.g., AWS GovCloud, Azure Government)
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) testing
• Knowledge of Command & Control systems (e.g., CPCE, MCE, DDS, C2I, AFATDS, JADOCS, CPOF, JBC-P)
• Familiarity with the EPG Tool Suite for system monitoring and testing
