Role Description The Accountant role at Brown Tax and Accounting Services Inc. is a full-time, on-site position based in Gretna, LA. The accountant will prepare and review financial records, including general ledgers, balance sheets, and income statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. Daily responsibilities include managing payroll processing, reconciling accounts, preparing sales tax returns, and assisting with tax-related documentation. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (bilingual Spanish English)
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger management.
- Experience with payroll processing and compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Understanding of sales tax requirements, preparation of sales tax returns, and related documentation.
- Proficiency with accounting and payroll software, as well as Microsoft Excel and other office applications.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on client service and professional interaction.
- Ability to work on-site in Gretna, LA, maintain confidentiality, and follow firm policies and procedures.
