Role Description
We are seeking an detail-focused Accountant for our Aurora, CO headquarters. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities include creating journal entries, reconciling accounts, managing fixed asset records, and assisting with financial close procedures. Additionally, this role will assist in audit activities and ensures timely completion of monthly financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
· Generate and supervise standard journal entries.
· Oversee monthly financial transactions, ensuring accurate distribution to the relevant site, department and branch.
· Review and reconcile key general ledger accounts. This involves comparing account balances to supporting documentation (such as bank statements, journal entries and accounting transactions) to verify accuracy.
· Conduct daily reconciliations for cash accounts, including disbursements, payroll, concentration, money market, and investment accounts. Certify that the recorded cash balances align with the actual daily bank balances.
· Keep detailed records pertaining to fixed assets. Calculate depreciation over the asset’s useful lifespan, and document acquisitions (when new assets are acquired) and disposals (when assets are sold or retired)
· Assist with processing Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and domestic wire transfers. Document financial transactions in the general ledger using the accounts payable (AP) payments process.
· Personal property tax schedules and annual filings.
· Engage in the ongoing planning process for annual audits.
· Assist in preparing schedules and other information required by auditors during financial audits.
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or business field required
· Minimum 2-4 years of experience in accounting
· Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills including VLookup, pivot tables and comfort working with large data sets and filtering/reviewing data for the results desired
· Strong analytical skills
· Experience with an ERP system
Salary
· $65,000-$80,000 per year base salary
