Brown's is a family owned and operated boatyard that offers year round full suite of serivces ranging from boat sales, repair services, dockage, storage, fuel, and a store.
The Marina Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the marina's retail store. They are responsible for managing the store staff, ensuring the store is well-stocked, and providing excellent customer service to marina visitors.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the marina's retail store, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, DockMaster entry, and ensuring a clean and organized store environment.
- Hire, train, and supervise store staff, including scheduling shifts and assigning tasks to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operation of the store.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and drive store profitability.
- Maintain inventory levels and conduct regular stock checks to ensure sufficient supply of merchandise, including boating accessories, fishing gear, marine safety equipment, and other related products utilizing our DockMaster system.
- Liaise with suppliers and vendors to negotiate pricing, place orders, and ensure timely delivery of products.
- Monitor sales performance and analyze sales data to identify trends, make informed decisions, and implement strategies to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Implement visual merchandising techniques to create attractive displays that highlight featured products and drive sales.
- Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, and other relevant data, and prepare reports for management on a regular basis.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including health and safety standards, as well as any specific marina or boating industry regulations.
- Stay informed about industry trends, new products, and developments in the boating and marine retail sector to effectively meet customer needs and provide relevant product recommendations.
- Collaborate with other marina departments, such as boat rentals or boat maintenance, to ensure seamless operations and enhance customer experience.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in retail management, preferably in a marine or boating-related store.
- Strong knowledge of boating accessories, fishing gear, and other marine products.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Proven track record in achieving sales targets and driving store profitability.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail management software; DockMaster a plus.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a retail environment.
- Flexibility to work weekends, and holidays as required.
