Personal Lines Account Manager
Position Summary:
The primary function of this role is to grow and manage an assigned book of business by delivering exceptional service, providing informed insurance guidance, and fostering strong professional relationships. This role serves as the cornerstone of client trust and retention by aligning with the agency’s core values: Family Harmony, Integrity & Excellence, Customer Priority, and Collaborative Team Spirit.
Key Responsibilities:
Book of Business Management
- Conduct regular account reviews to assess needs and opportunities.
- Provide exceptional service through responsive and thorough client support.
- Develop and maintain referral sources to drive new business.
- Document client files with clarity and consistency, following agency standards.
Book of Business Growth
- Convert qualified prospects into new clients through consultative selling.
- Round out existing accounts by identifying and closing coverage gaps.
- Promote the importance and value of increased policy limits.
- Educate clients on optional coverages to enhance protection and retention.
Customer Service Excellence
- Respond promptly to quotes, service requests, and general inquiries.
- Provide concierge-style claim support by guiding clients through the process and assisting with first notice of loss, while refraining from making coverage determinations.
- Maintain a consistently positive attitude in all interactions.
- Embody the “Golden Rule” by treating others as you would want to be treated.
- Ensure all client communications are thoroughly documented in alignment with agency procedures.
Team and Agency Support
- Proactively offer assistance to team members to promote a collaborative environment.
- Share new ideas and industry insights that could benefit team performance or client experience.
- Engage in agency marketing initiatives and social media efforts to support brand growth.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in personal lines account management or insurance customer service
- Active Property & Casualty license, or the ability to obtain the license upon being hired
- Understanding of personal insurance products
- Proficiency with an agency management system (Applied Epic), Microsoft Office Suite, and carrier portals
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first mindset
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently and effectively
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to clear and accurate documentation
- Sales aptitude with a focus on client education and account rounding
- Positive, team-oriented mindset aligned with agency core values
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check, as permitted by law
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
