What are the responsibilities and job description for the HSE Tech position at Brown & Root?
HSE TECH
This position is responsible for field observations, to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who enjoys the challenges of daily involvement with multiple contractors in the chemical industry.
- Make job walks and get familiar with the units you will be working in. Learn the equipment, etc.
- Ensure that federal, state and local laws, regulations, rules and codes are observed by contractors.
- Assist, with plan to implement move in/out contractor safety training for employee orientation programs.
- Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the client’s workplace during on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices.
- Participate in the safety observation program, submit feedback and assure documents are begin submitted and tracked accordingly.
- Provide advice and counseling for all compliance regulations.
- Compile, analyze, and interpret incident report data to develop corrective actions to eliminate risk. Assure compliance to company safety policy handbook and site-specific policies.
- Participate in safety walks & audits, provide positive correction advice to employees working at risk.
- Self-starter yet able to take orders as directed.
- Any other duties deemed necessary in alignment with business & departmental needs.
- Possess a high level of technical expertise, ability to apply skills to continuous process improvement while maintaining maximum levels of safety
- Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities
- Excellent communication skills up and down organizational structure
- Strong planning, organizational and follow up skills
- Bilingual is plus
- Excellent people and process management skills
