SUMMARY:
Seeking a certified music teacher with strong expertise in choral methodologies to lead and oversee the choral curriculum. The candidate will also teach general music as needed and coordinate afterschool vocal music programming. The ideal candidate demonstrates knowledge of diverse musical repertoire, effective rehearsal techniques, performance proficiency, and piano skills. The successful applicant will be an excellent communicator and strong leader with exceptional skills in conducting, performance, and music analysis. This role requires artistic vision and the administrative capacity to lead, sustain, and grow an already vibrant choral music program, while collaborating with key performing arts staff to support school events and performances.

- Bachelor’s Degree
- Appropriate DESE teaching license, including SEI endorsement
- Ability to handle a multitude of varying and complex issues
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to use technology effectively
- Experience directing choral ensembles
- Ability to present evening concerts and support students auditioning/participating at regional festivals
- Ability to handle a multitude of varying and complex issues
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with numerous building stakeholders

Work Environment:
- Majority of work is performed in a school/classroom environment. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate. Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function. Rarely absent or late unless the situation is of an emergency nature.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the teacher is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear. The teacher is regularly required to bend, stoop, crouch and/or kneel. Must have sufficient mobility to navigate within a large school building. The Music Teacher will be required to set up chairs and risers for concerts.
- Regularly required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
