Responsibilities
- Assemble roof and floor trusses using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment with accuracy and efficiency
- Operate forklifts and other materials handling equipment safely to transport raw materials, components, and finished trusses within the manufacturing area
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure precise assembly of trusses according to design standards
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot fabrication issues, adjust machinery, and optimize assembly processes
- Handle materials carefully, ensuring proper storage, inventory management, and organization within the warehouse or production area
- Fabricate components by cutting, drilling, sanding, or shaping wood or metal parts as needed for assembly
- Perform quality checks throughout the manufacturing process to ensure each truss meets safety, structural integrity, and quality requirements
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols related to construction, machining, and warehouse operations
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment used in truss assembly
- Experience with forklift operation and materials handling within a manufacturing or warehouse setting
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to carpentry, machining, and construction principles
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, or schematics accurately
- Knowledge of millwork techniques and assembly processes for structural components
- Familiarity with manufacturing safety standards and best practices in construction environments
- Warehouse experience is a plus for efficient inventory management and organization
- Excellent attention to detail combined with the ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality
