Brown Federal Services is actively hiring a Principal Project Controls Specialist to support operations at the Savannah River Site. This is a high-impact role focused on cost, schedule, and financial performance across complex DOE projects.
What You’ll Do
- Lead development and management of project controls systems including cost, schedule, and financial tracking
- Build and maintain cost & schedule baselines, WBS structures, and spend plans
- Perform variance analysis and communicate drivers and corrective actions to leadership
- Support project reviews, cost meetings, and schedule updates
- Develop and implement change management processes for construction and engineering scope
- Conduct financial analysis including forecasting, scenario analysis, and performance tracking
- Maintain and analyze costing structures within PeopleSoft and financial systems
- Prepare monthly financial reports, forecasts, and spend plans
- Identify cost and productivity issues and implement control improvements
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to project controls personnel
- Support system enhancements and integration of project control tools and applications
- Perform field walkdowns and support construction maintenance schedules and cost tracking
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- OR equivalent experience (Associate’s 11 years or HS diploma 15 years)
- Strong experience in project controls (cost & schedule) at a tactical level
- Advanced proficiency in:
- Cost management systems
- Scheduling tools
- Financial/estimating systems
- Experience with variance analysis, forecasting, and reporting
- Strong understanding of project lifecycle and construction operations
- Knowledge of CAS/FAR principles
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PeopleSoft, OAS, and COBRA
- Prior experience at Savannah River Site (SRNS)
- Active or recent DOE L or Q Clearance
